When you have ordered any photo and/or personalized item please use our Contact Page (address at the end). Include in this email your un-edited, original photo in JPG format. Do not change the photo from the original format. Please do not edit, crop or resize them. We will do that on this end. We often get scanned pictures in a low resolution. This will result in a lower quality picture on your card. Scan the photo at a minimum of 300 dpi. A resolution of 1800 x 1200 pixels will produce the best quality for your finished item. Resolution can be a hard thing to understand, so if you have any questions, please use our Contact Page (address at the end) and we will try and help you.
We often receive scanned photos in a low resolution. This will, naturally, produce a lower quality picture on your card. We recommend scanning at 300 dpi. If you do not have a scanner, do not let that stop you. You can take your photo to any photo developer and many large chain stores such as Wal-Mart will scan your photos and place them on a CD for a fee.
We also accept photos by mail, however, as careful as we are, we do not accept responsibility for them. Just know that it’s our business to get that photo on a card to print for you.
If you want to use photos or portraits from online photographers or large chain studios like Sears, Picture People, Pennys, please keep in mind that they are almost always in a lower resolution and will not look as nice. They usually print poorly also. If you are using a photo from your hometown photographer, make sure you contact them for a written release and include that in your email. It will need to be forwarded to In Your Own Words before we can start on the project.
As usual, if you have any questions, use our Contact Page to send them to us.
